When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication data through Firebase Auth (including Google or Apple sign-in if used).
User-Generated Content
We collect the images and videos you upload to menu items, along with your votes and restaurant submissions. Please be aware that media uploaded to menu items is public.
Location Data
We use your interaction with city and state filters to provide relevant restaurant information for the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill areas.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Viscarte visual menu service.
- To attribute media uploads and restaurant submissions to your profile.
- To calculate popularity rankings (upvotes/downvotes) for restaurants and dishes.
- To communicate important updates or administrative information.
- To improve our platform and user experience.
4. Data Storage and Security
Viscarte uses Google Firebase for data storage (Firestore), authentication (Firebase Auth), and media storage (Firebase Storage). Your data is protected by industry-standard security protocols implemented by Google Cloud Platform.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. Public information, such as your display name (if provided) and the photos/videos you upload, will be visible to other users of the platform as part of the "Living Menu" experience.

You have the right to access, update, or delete your account information at any time through your profile settings. If you wish to permanently delete your data, please contact us.
